Rick Ezzel passed away Tuesday, January 2. Many of you may remember the poignant article he wrote about a year ago regarding his fight with throat cancer. His funeral is 11:00am Saturday at Hallmark Baptist Church, 4201 W. Risinger Road, Fort Worth, Texas.

Ted R. “Rick” Ezzell Jr. went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Hallmark Baptist Church, 4201 W Risinger Rd., Fort Worth.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hallmark Baptist Church Building Fund.

Rick Ezzell was born Feb. 22, 1944, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Ted R. Sr. and Nola Ezzell. He grew up in Arlington and attended Arlington High School. Rick served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964, “Always faithful to God, country and Corps.” He was most passionate about his family and his church family. On Nov. 22, 1987, he married Alycee Richardson and they made their home in Arlington. His other big passion was the successful investment firm that he owned and operated for about 30 years, holding his last staff meeting four days before his death. He had been an active member of Hallmark Baptist Church since 1989. He was also enthusiastically involved with music ministry and missionary support. He was a member of numerous boards and associations and gave generously to various charities, locally and internationally.

His body was donated for cancer research to Life Legacy Foundation, Tucson, Ariz.

Rick was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and mentor. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Nola Ezzell; and brother, Donald E. Ezzell.

Survivors: Wife, Alycee Richardson Ezzell; sons, Anthony W. Ezzell, Teddy R. Ezzell III, J. Scott Ezzell and wife, Cheree Ezzell, Erin Holt and wife, Leslie Holt, and Justin Hart Ezzell; grandchildren, Kaylee Ezzell, Clayton Ezzell, Truett Ezzell, Ashton Holt, Carson Holt and Leianna Hart; sisters, Billie Rae Elmore and Linda Ann White; and numerous nieces and nephews.
