Got a call from “Froggie,“ (Mr. Starrett). He had just returned home from Rise & Shine, (he always parks his car in front of Workman’s home and walks across to his house). As he was walking his legs stopped moving. He is using a walker and they are going to start some therapy. He couldn’t even hop home.

I really do like him.

Dear All,

As you were each aware my father has been living at home and enjoying life since his NPH surgery -- becoming stronger by the day. Unfortunately that trend apparently came to an end as of last Thursday at 4:30. The home health person was here giving him his bath when Daddy slumped in the shower chair and said he did not feel well. Iva and I were both in the next room and came quickly to help. I called 911 and we went to Hughely Hospital where his doctor is on staff

After a CT scan we were told that Daddy had probably had a TIA and would recover within 72 hours. After a very long, bad week end with no communication from him, they scheduled another CT on Monday. That CT, we found out late Monday, shows a massive stroke in his left brain. Iva and I were told Tuesday, that a recovery is not possible and we should anticipate an end to Daddy’s story in the near future. They are waiting until Thursday to make any arrangements for future long-term care.

Daddy opened his eyes Monday for Iva and I, but soon went back into his resting state. He is not on any life support and he is being fed through a tube in his throat. He took my finger today and held tightly, but no one believes that to be of special interest or a sign of great improvement. I want to believe differently.

I will keep all advised as we either have a miracle or a passing. It is hard for me to discuss any of this, since you all know of my devotion to my Hero/Daddy - Please keep him in your prayers.

Thank you for your concerns and your friendship.
