November 1, 2007 AHS Class of 1962 Newsletter While at the reunion, I was given a printout of David Bronstads obituary featured in his local newspaper. He was an extremely popular Lutheran pastor in Omaha, Nebraska. ![]() This years reunion activities were absolutely wonderful. The Friday night gathering at Tonys Pizza was a great place to jump start the weekend. Tonys food was great but the time with friends was the best, especially giving those unable to make the Saturday night reunion a chance to also enjoy seeing alumni. Almost 200 alumni and guests were at the reunion Saturday evening. The White Room was beautifully decorated, the surprise guest - Elvis - was fantastic bringing many alumni to their feet on the dance floor enjoying moves invented while we were in high school! Trying to identify alumni in photographs presented on screen was a popular activity. Especially moving were the grade school class shots. Following is a reproduction of an email from Tex Hook who, along with Sonny Wooten and Mark Lamkin, created a paddle presented to the very popular teacher Paul Booher in recognition of his unique way of keeping order in his wood-working class. His teachings stayed with students and became life-long safety rules when operating machinery.
If you have not visited the website and scrolled through the Class CD, updated for the 45th reunion, please do so! In the same column as the link to the CD are link to albums full of 45th reunion photos. There are several photos of Sumiko Nagashima who flew in from Japan especially to be at the reunion. It is not too late to submit information and/or photos for the Class CD and Photo Albums. To send items via email, send to sswellborn@ahs1962.com. Postal mail address: Sandra Wellborn, 5000 Barnett Street, Fort Worth, TX 76103. To whet your appetite, here are a few photos submitted by alumni. Can you guess who they are? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
