To My AHS Class of 1962 Classmates:
I was asked and accepted the privilege and opportunity to serve as Vice President of the AHS Alumni Association. I, along with my wife Judy, joined the association in 2008 and became aware of all the good things this organization does, not to mention the fun (tailgating party at homecoming, etc.). I hope this message reaches some of you who are interested in lengthening our class list of members. Right now, the classes of 1959 and 1961 have more members than any other class followed by the Class of 1963. I would like to see the Class of 1962 take the lead. Please consider joining now.
Membership dues are the lifeblood of our organization, allowing us to print and mail three newsletters a year, plus a newsy program for the Alumni Open House every June. We have given well over $50,000 to Arlington High since our founding in 1996. These funds have gone directly to classroom sustenance, to the PTA courtyard refurbishing project, to the inflatable helmet run-through for the football team, to grants to teachers issued through the AISD Education Foundation, and to 25 scholarships to graduating seniors. Annual dues are $20/individual or $25/household. Joining today will entitle you to membership through 2010.
In January 2011, you will receive notice that a renewal of $10 is due to retain your membership. Life memberships are $100/individual or $150/household and require no further renewals. You can upgrade to a Life Membership at any time. You can join online at www.ahscolts-alumni.org or you can go online and print off the membership form and mail it along with your check to AHS Alumni, PO Box 152578, Arlington, TX 76015.
If you are already a member and would like to send a gift membership for a sibling, or cousin, or child, or friend who doesn’t realize yet what they could do to keep Arlington High School the best high school in town. The most up-to-date membership list is posted on the website.
Thank you so much for considering this appeal. If you have any questions feel free to call or email me.
Many thanks,
Steve East
